Sea Battle

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Sea Battle (“the game”) is a game developed by Vladislav Alhasov (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game handles, and why.

No account needed

The game needs no registration of its own and never asks for your email address or phone number. Online play uses your Game Center account (see below). The name and picture you choose for your captain, your settings, your daily challenge results and, while an online match is running, a note of it (so that closing the game in the middle of a match counts as a loss at the next start) are stored only on your device (and in your own iPhone backup). They are never sent to us, and they are deleted when you delete the game. Other players see your Game Center name, never your captain's name.

Online play (Game Center)

Online play uses Apple’s Game Center. Apple signs you in and runs the matches under Apple’s own privacy policy. To play, the game uses your Game Center name and a player identifier that Apple gives to the game. The other player sees your Game Center name. Your shots, your answers to theirs (miss, hit or sunk), the quick phrases you tap and a sealed fingerprint of your board go to them through Game Center while you both play; when the match ends, both boards are shown to both players. If no other player turns up, the computer plays you on your own device: nothing about that match goes to another player, but a win still counts in Game Center, and the match is part of the game events described under Analytics. If the other player stops responding or the connection breaks during a match, the game checks whether your phone is online by loading Apple’s own connectivity check page (captive.apple.com), as iOS itself does; no game data is sent with it. Your wins and achievements are recorded in Game Center. We do not receive your Apple Account details, and we do not send your Game Center identifier to our analytics.

Analytics

We use Amplitude, an analytics service, to understand how the game is played and to find and fix problems. It receives game events (for example a match started or finished, the daily challenge played or shared, or a setting changed), error reports from the game, how long the game takes to load, session length and frequency, the device type, operating system version and language, a random identifier created when the game is installed, and the IP address of the connection, from which Amplitude works out an approximate location (country, region and city). It never receives the names you type in the game. This information is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account, and it is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. See Amplitude’s privacy notice.

Advertising

This version of the game shows no ads. It contains no advertising code, does not use your device’s advertising identifier and never asks for permission to track you. If a later version adds ads, this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Sharing

When you share a daily challenge result, the text goes through Apple’s share sheet to the app and the people you choose. We do not receive it.

Feedback form

If you write to us on the feedback page, we receive your message, the game version, platform and language, and your email address only if you choose to give it. The form is run by Netlify, the host of this website, which also records the IP address and browser details of each message. We use all of this only to read and answer your message.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep analytics data only as long as it helps us improve the game, and feedback messages only as long as we need them to answer you. Deleting the game deletes everything stored on your device; if you install it again, it gets a new random identifier. To ask us to delete data we hold about you, write to us on the feedback page and include the ID shown at the bottom of the game’s Settings, so we can find the analytics data that belongs to your device.

Service providers

Amplitude (analytics) and Netlify (this website and the feedback form) process the data described above, mainly in the United States. We share data only with providers that protect it at least as well as this policy describes and as Apple’s App Store rules require. Apple runs Game Center under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the United Kingdom or Switzerland), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. We use analytics and feedback data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the game. To use your rights, write to us on the feedback page.

Children

The game is made for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date.
